The Divine Order in the book of LeviticusShalom Friends, Let me share with you God’s Divine order in the book of Leviticus. God is a God of order and in His plans and in His House, there a specific order. Today I want to underline the most important element in God’s Divine order, that of the sacrificial system. I want to remind you that God’s House is where He dwells and where He wells, God brings about order. As we look at the book of Exodus chapter 40, we see that God built His dwelling place among His people, the children of Israel , through Moses. And now He moved into this house and spoke to Moses from within the Tabernacle. Wherever God establishes His Presence, there He will begin to deal with sin. God is Holy and Righteousness. There fore wherever He dwells, there must be Righteousness and Holiness as well. The first seven chapters in Leviticus are dedicated to the sacrificial system. Each offering is different in their nature because God wanted to deal with sin in every aspect of a believer’s life. I want to introduce to the first three offering that are equally important in our relationship with God. If we look in the book of Leviticus chapter 1, we encounter the burnt offering. Verse 2 and 3 declare: “Speak to the children of Israel and say to them: When anyone of you brings an offering to the Lord, you shall bring your offering of the livestock of the herd and of the flock. If his offering is a burnt offering of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish. He shall offer it from his own free will at the door of the Tabernacle of meeting before the Lord. Then he shall put his hand on the head of the burnt offering and it will be accepted on his behalf, to make atonement for him.” The next sacrifice found in Leviticus is the grain offering. Keep in mind that all these offerings have been fulfilled by Yeshua. Why is there no blood involved in the grain offering? The grain offering is bloodless because God had already dealt with the sin of Adam and we have entered into a relationship with God.
When anyone offers a grain offering to the Lord, his offering should be of fine flour and he shall pour oil on it and pour frankincense on it. The third offering is called the peace offering. This offering was shared with the priest and the person presenting the offering. This represents our fellowship with God. It demonstrates that God was already willing to share this sacrifice and sit at the same table with the person giving the offering. This is the divine order for all those who come to God to be saved from sin. Therefore the first three offerings reveal salvation and redemption from sin through the Messiah, God’s progressive work in our life, and divine fellowship with God. There are four other chapters focusing on other sin offerings. My Friend, because God is merciful, He has given us a covering when we fall allowing us to be forgiven through the Blood of the sacrifice who is Yeshua the Messiah. Lord Yeshua, thank you for dying for my sins. I accept you into my heart. You are my Messiah. Amen. Dear friend, God’s infinite wisdom and care for us all is truly amazing. I hope you are able to see the makeup of God’s Divine Order and how Yeshua fulfilled it all. If you have never accepted Him in your heart I would encourage you to do it now by repeating this simple prayer: These three components represent three important elements found in the life of a believer. The first is fine flour made out of grain. It becomes fine only after it has gone through a grinding process. Every believer will go through a process of grinding until we become fine flower to the Lord mixed with oil which always refers to the Holy Spirit. Lastly frankincense, which reveals a heart of worship that gives praise and glory to God. In other words, God will work on every believer’s character until we reflect the Messiah in our life. As Jesus became fine flour mixed with oil and a fragrant aroma to God when He lived on this earth so must we. By: Messianic Rabbi Gennady Livshits |
