The Biblical Holiday season is just around the corner. Rosh Ha Shanah, the Feast of trumpets or the New Year; followed by Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement; and Succoth, the Feast of Tabernacles.
These are the last three Feasts that bring great significance. Why do we need to celebrate them?
Because Rosh Ha Shanah represents Yeshua, Jesus the Messiah, coming for His bride, the believers in Him. We call this the rapture. Yom Kippur represents the salvation of
Israel
on the day when Jesus will return with us to
Israel
to reign. The Feast of Tabernacles represents one thousand years of Jesus’ reign in
Jerusalem.
I believe that we are very close to these three major events. In the meantime, God is calling us to look carefully into the scriptures and strengthen our walk with Him. There is much more ahead of us than all that we have already gone through!
We must remind ourselves that God has called us from a life of barrenness to a life of fruitfulness. We don’t want to waste the time that God has given us. We need to look into the scriptures once again to encourage our faith.
In Genesis 12:1-3, we read: "Now the LORD had said to Abram: Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."
Reflect on three things:
1. Know where you came from
2. Know where you are going
3. Remember to whom you are destined to give an account
1.Know where you came from. "Get out of your country." God has called us out of the life that was not pleasing to Him: the life of sin and idolatry. We were in slaveryto the devil and the world.
Israel was in slavery to
Egypt
, and God set them free. Abraham was called from the life of idolatry and sin to a new life of destiny, with freedom and prosperity in everything.
We do not know what Abraham’s life was like before he was called – whether he was successful, healthy, rich, and of good heart. Whatever state he was in, God called him to a new life. This tells me that, no matter what we make in this life, and regardless of who we are, God is calling us to Himself. Sin is the real problem, and we all need to be saved!
The only fruit that will be counted is the one that can endure God’s judgment. No one can produce such a fruit in this life by being a sinner. On the other hand, there is no way out except to be saved from sin, be born again, and let God produce the fruit that only He can produce! We must make a solid decision today to leave that barren life and stretch forward toward the new life in God through Jesus our Messiah.
God does not call us out to the unknown. He has a wonderful plan for us. When God called
Israel out of slavery, He promised to lead them to the land flowing with milk and honey. He promised to make them a peculiar nation of Priests. In other words, the Lord has called us to be the answer to the world. The world needs us today! We are the salt of the earth and the light of the world! God has set us free and anointed us to be the head, and not the tail. He has given us the power and authority to walk in the supernatural on this Earth in order to lead others to Him. We are the ones who have the power over the devil and all his evil works. God gave us power to receive wealth! We are His children, and we do not need to be afraid to walk in this way!
2. Know where you are going. "…to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."
It doesn't really matter where God is leading us. We trust Him because He knows the way. No matter where we are with God, His promise to us is to bless us! He is also our protector. As the Bible says, God will curse those who curse us. That also means that every enemy of yours is an enemy of God. Sickness, poverty, and all the manifestations of evil God will withstand on your behalf.
Now we have the God-given strength to fight it all. So when you are attacked, you know that you have the victory, because you are God’s child! You are His property! You are the apple of His eye!
In addition to all of this, we were promised that we carry blessings to the people: "…and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed". The Messiah Yeshua gave us authority to heal the sick, to cast out demons, and to preach the Gospel. We are also the peacemakers that the world needs so badly today. We are the people who know how to forgive. We are the people who carry family values.
We are the people who know how to live without adultery and to have a great marriage for life!
We could go on and on and on! Just think of the turmoil in the world today. In every area of human life, we carry the answer! Whether spiritual, physical, family, financial, or in other areas, God has called us to be a blessing to the world!
3. Remember to whom you are destined to give an account. In Genesis 17:1, the Word of the Lord says: "When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless"."
Friend, how greatly important it is to remind yourself always that we will one day give an account to the Lord for our life here on earth. Everybody is destined to do this. We believers, as good stewards of God’s grace, must always walk before the Lord blameless. It is not the world that will judge us, but God. Therefore, we must be blameless before Him alone!
Our life, our faith, and our obedience are before God every day. So let us earnestly seek His Word and obey it! Let our life be as God has called us to be, and let the light of the Messiah Jesus shine so that the world will see it and be blessed! Let us lead people to that light so that they will be saved from their sin and become a blessing!
